The conference was attended by thousands of Japanese delegates and international representatives from the Marshall Islands, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Nepal, the US, Ukraine, Germany, France, Russia, Finland, Canada, the UK, and Vietnam.

The leader expressed hope that this year’s conference would encourage nations to collaborate in building a peaceful world based on mutual understanding and respect, as well as the observance of international law, particularly the United Nations Charter and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and engage in mutually beneficial cooperation with sincerity, trust, and responsibility.

At the conference, a representative from the Vietnam Peace Committee delivered a speech on Vietnam’s foreign policy, specifically its “Four Nos” defense policy – no military alliances, no siding with one country against another, no foreign military bases or using Vietnamese territory to oppose other countries, and no using force or threatening to use force in international relations.
